Foreword

It is my great pleasure and privilege to write the Foreword for this book, which depicts one of the key turnaround stories in the ongoing ascent of India's Public Sector.

It is heartening to note that the Model presented in this book provides an integrated approach for achieving excellence in performance, giving greater emphasis on vision, commitment, result orientation, people orientation, and process management.

The book covers in detail the experiential learning and implementation of strategies to achieve desired results. The steps presented in the Model will be useful for individuals as well as organizations in developing strategies to achieve their long-term vision.

There should be a bold vision which infuses a sense of mission, leading naturally to a phase of indoctrination and motivation of managers, supervisors, and workers. The result is corporate turnaround.

I am sure that the contents of this book will generate lively discussion among professionals and help implement integrated solutions involving all stakeholders.
